Perfect and No Longer Ashamed

Do the words of hymns truly flow from your heart? Words like,

Free from condemnation
God is my salvation,

and,

Far away in the depths of my spirit tonight
Rolls a melody sweeter than psalms.

When you recite the Apostles' Creed, do you truly, with all your heart, give glory and adoration to the one who "rose again from the dead; ...ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty"? When you say these words, do the truths within them give rise to a deep gratitude, joy, and hope within you? Perhaps you believe in the Holy Spirit and know about the true fellowship of the saints, but do you also know what it means to have true fellowship with God?

Ask on your knees before God who is spirit and ask in your conscience whether you are living for the sake of your flesh or for the sake of your spirit. It's a big mistake to live your life trying to preserve your flesh, while completely ignoring your spirit. You need to realize that you can't preserve your flesh; God alone is able to do that.

In John's Gospel chapter 10 verse 28 it says,

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Isn't the fact that you haven't yet become God's possession the reason you are struggling so much now, trying so hard to preserve your own flesh? If you were truly His, wouldn't He watch over you and keep you?
